Three Wheeled Buggies
Whether you're looking for a buggy to run with or just a nifty stroller to tackle neighbourhood walks, three wheeled buggies offer great mobility. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver even in tight spots.
For an easy ride, opt for a pram fitted with air-filled tyres. Look for models with a 360deg front swivel wheel. They are prone, however to punctures. Make sure you have an repair kit.
Sturdy frame
Figures have just been released revealing that the three-wheeled buggy - that noughties symbol of more money than sanity is in a decline. They've been replaced with four-wheelers that can handle a wider range of terrain, yet still look stylish and easy to push.
The bigger the wheels are, the better your buggy will cope with bumpy surfaces and uneven pavements. The larger wheels both rear and front, make it easier to maneuver and more stable while walking downhill or in difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried the buggy with a newborn and 3 year old and found it coped well with grass, cobbles, rough roads, dirt tracks, and kerbs. Kath said that "it is solid to push and extremely solid when you're on rough terrain. Its tyres, which are inflatable and require to be pumped up regularly, have built-in suspension. It was extremely comfortable for my kids.
The shape and size of the seat is another thing to consider. It is important for the seat to be big enough for your child to be comfortable and allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies offer an option to lie flat completely while others only allow for an adult facing one.
A great choice for tackling off-road and muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. This buggy is suitable for a single child from birth and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for toddlers and infants from birth until age 4 and includes a bumper, raincover, an improved 5-point harness, and a large cushioned seat. Storage options are also great with a large storage basket, zip pockets on the hood, and an extra pouch on the rear of the seat unit.
Wheels with a larger diameter
Larger wheels will give your buggy more stability when driving on rough terrain. This is especially beneficial for buggies that are off-road. They also make it easier to manoeuvre the pushchair in tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies have rotating front wheels that assist you in maneuvering around tight corners, while others are designed for running and come with fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability at which they can be driven. This is especially useful when you hit trees or a kerb. The front wheel can be lifted slightly to avoid hitting it.
A majority of 3 wheeled pushchairs have air-filled tyres, which allows them to handle a wide range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They're also lighter. They are also more susceptible to punctures, so you will need to have an repair kit and spare inner tubes on hand.
Some of our favourite 3-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. Both of these buggies come with larger wheels that, according to MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on gravel tracks, grass and market town cobbles" and can easily climb and descend kerbs. They also have a suspension system that, in her words "smoothes out bumps with great efficiency".
Buggies with larger wheels can be quite wide and may struggle to fit into tight spaces. This is problematic if you intend to use it as a jogger or you need to get through narrow doorways while on the move. Fortunately, the majority of models come with compact folding options that allow you to take off the front wheels for more compact storage.
Easy to manoeuvre
One of the main benefits to a three-wheeled buggy is that it is much easier to maneuver especially with a child on the way. The way in which they are built means that the front wheels rotate at a whim and are incredibly easy to manoeuvre which makes them perfect for difficult terrains like cobbles, parks or bumpy pavements, as well as dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried the 3-wheeler with her toddler. she said: "The Terrain is a joy to maneuver in rough terrain. The front swivel wheel was especially helpful." I was also amazed by the way it dealt with kerbs using the hand-operated break. three wheel pushchair found it extremely stable when driving downhill or over uneven ground."
The only drawback to this great mobility is that the 3 wheel buggy's larger wheels sometimes mean it has to struggle in tight spaces - something to keep in mind when you live in a city area. If this is the case then a four-wheeled buggy might be a better option for you.
Bumper bar
Bumper bars are a great method to shield your little one from scrapes and bumps while out and out and about. They are easy to install and will make your child feel secure and safe out and out and about.
It is designed to complement the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar features a soft and padded surface that offers a comfortable place for your child to hang to during walks. The durable construction and sturdy design will ensure that your child can enjoy strolling around town without fearing of falling out of the buggy or leaning too far ahead.
The sling seat is comfortably inside the frame instead of sitting on top like modular seats do, providing the lowest centre of gravity at the ideal height for your infant and also providing excellent weight distribution for easy kerb pop (it requires less effort to push a buggy up and over the curb than you think). MFM reviewer Kath said it's great on grass and cobbles. It's also a great option for running thanks to its air-filled tyres and lockable swivel wheel.
This bumper bar is sure to make heads turn wherever it's used. It has a classy and elegant design. Available in a range of colours and finishes that can be customized to suit your personal style. The bumper bar can be easily removed and put in place by a quick-release mechanism. The bumper bar is also easy to clean as it is made of durable materials. This makes it a great option for families that want an attractive and secure accessory for their stroller.
Comfort
A 3-wheel buggy is the ideal off-road vehicle to maneuver and performance. This kind of buggy is simple to steer and can turn on a dime with its perfect geometry, engineering, and weight distribution.
The clever design of the Sport places the fabric sling seat within the frame, rather than over it like modular seats. This means it has lower center of gravity which means it's more comfortable to push, has a less weighty curb-pop (you won't need to put in as much effort to lift the buggy's nose over the curb), and offers greater stability and balance. With the 16" rear wheels, lockable front wheel, and tyres that are air-filled, you can enjoy an easier, more comfortable jogging.

As the only pushchair that is all-terrain in our collection to come with a seat for parents that can also be used as a car seat or carrycot to ensure the future of your family and take pleasure in every moment of your day and into the future and all within the footprint of a single buggy!
But that's not the only reason you should love this buggy Our MFM reviewer Kath was impressed by how spacious it is as well. There's a big easy-to-access basket that's quite spacious for such a small buggy and there's an easy-to-use pouch that zips up on the rear of the seat and even two smaller mesh pockets in the hood for your keys and phone.
